Inspired by a conversation with a guest, about four months after launching her business Diane began to bake every Friday. Grateful for the interest and support of her neighbors, this is her way of saying Thank-You every week. All you have to do is stop in, say hello, and you are welcome to whatever she has baked that week. In addition to the plate of cookies you can find on her counter, she makes a trip up to the Pike Place Market to deliver her weekly thank-you's to the vendors and farmers whose continued support and ingredients make her classes so memorable. So when you are with her, if you hear a friendly “hey….is it Friday?” you’ll know what they are talking about.
Friday’s cookie is not just popular among the two legged set. Incredible as it may seem, there is a member of Seattle’s finest, a local seventeen hand high police horse Harvest and his rider Officer Mark who have been known to show up on Friday’s as well. So don’t be worried if you see Harvest with his nose at her door; there is nothing wrong, they just stopped in for their cookies.
